The Mars press release deconstructed - storytelling that shifts pledges into action

Inspired by Greta’s call for more action and less pledges, Barry Parkin and Grant Reid have shared Mars’ new approach to tackling climate change. It’s refreshing to see a story that calls for big businesses to own the problem as well as the solution.

Mars has set targets to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its full value chain by 2050. Alongside this, Mars is transitioning to 100% renewable energy, eliminating deforestation within their supply chain, and challenging their suppliers to take urgent action.

As Parkin says: “Ultimately the planet doesn’t care about the commitment, it cares about the action.”
